Departmental Project Coordinator


The Departmental Project Coordinator (DPC) will mainly be involved in :

  • Assisting the Department Director in the day-to-day management of practical and administrative aspects of the research department;
  • Participating in the establishment, writing and coordination of large collaborative projects and consortia at the national and international levels;
  • Participating in the dissemination of knowledge and in the promotion of scientific and technical information;

Key Accountabilities

  • Organize and coordinate operational and administrative tasks in the research department;
  • Assist in the writing and establishment of consortial project applications;
  • Assist in project management, coordination and administrative follow-up of projects;
  • Assist the Principal investigators of the Department in the administrative setup and management of research projects;
  • Contribute to the organization of scientific events (e.g. scientific meetings, workshops, conferences, lectures) and outreach activities;
  • Maintain scientific communication activities (e.g. websites, presentations, posters, communications to the press and general public);
  • Interact with national and international partners, stakeholders and funding agencies (e.g. coordinate sample collections, clinical partners).

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • PhD in a relevant scientific discipline or Master’s Degree with equivalent experience;
  • Proven experience in scientific writing and project management;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills for scientific topics;
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to effectively organize, prioritize and execute tasks in a highly dynamic environment, with respect of the deadlines;
  • Hands-on experience in biomedical research would be an asset;
  • Ability to work in multinational environment and interact efficiently with multicultural partners;
  • Languages: fluent command of English (oral and written), good command of French and/or German.
