Clinical Study Assistant - Clinical and Epidemiological Investigation Center


The Clinical Study Assistant will be part of the Clinical and Epidemiological Investigation Centre (CIEC) in the Translational Medicine Operations Hub of the LIH. He/She will support the clinical research projects implemented in collaboration with clinicians and researchers by inviting potential participants by phone, and in particular by explaining the objectives and protocols of various research projects, by answering their questions and by ensuring the administrative follow-up.

Key Accountabilities

  • Call the potential participants, explain the study and answer questions ;
  • Administrative follow-up of the participants in the studies, including set-up of participant binders;
  • Ensure patient recruitment and retention, including maintenance of the volunteer database, recruitment calls, and management of follow-up appointments;
  • Answer phone calls and emails from participants;
  • Helping participants with technical problems linked to their study participation (documents, questionnaires, mobile applications, …);
  • Update the study files to trace the activities;
  • Study Data management / support activities include data upload in study databases;
  • Ensuring administrative follow-up on projects within a multidisciplinary and inter-institutional research environment;
  • Support the CIEC teams in day-to-day tasks and the administrative management including material and car management;
  • Provide support in clinical events organisation (workshops,  visitors, etc.);
  • Act as assistant to the Nurse Manager (Team appointments, nurse meeting management, ..);
  • Work in close collaboration with the Clinical Research Nurse Team and CIEC Administrative Officers, including assistance in translations.

Key Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Language skills: Fluency in French and Luxembourgish is mandatory;
  • Any other language in use in Luxembourg such as German, Portuguese and English would be assets;
  • Profile with medical/health background and/or biological knowledge, is considered an asset;
  • Excellent communication and convincing skills, meticulous and autonomous;
  • Able to work in a multidisciplinary team and with people with different profiles, and people from different experiences and cultural backgrounds;
  • Comfortable with computer tools (Word, Excel, databases).
