Post-Doctoral Fellow in Integrative Multi-Omics Bioinformatics


The Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher with specialized expertise in multi-omics data analysis. You will play a central role in analyzing large datasets from multiple large cohort studies with a primary focus on cancer, immunological diseases, and neurodegenerative disorders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Data management: overview, pre-process, QC, and maintenance of integrated heterogeneous multi-omics datasets.
  • Integrative Data Analysis: Perform and lead analysis of large-scale multi-omics datasets, including RNA/DNA sequencing, methylation, and metabolomics.
  • Method Development: Implement and develop novel data analysis methods to handle complex biomolecular data.
  • Collaborative Research: Work closely with various research groups to implement a variety of views.
  • Dissemination: Lead and participate in the dissemination of the results through visualizations, publications and presentations.

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Education: PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of R. Knowledge of Python is an asset.
  • Multi-Omics Expertise: Proven experience in the analysis and integration of diverse datasets (e.g., RNA-Seq, epigenetics, cancer genomics, or metabolomics).
  • Statistical Knowledge: Strong understanding of algorithmic, statistical, and ontological concepts in biology.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between bioinformatics and experimental biology.
  • Mindset: Motivated, collaborative mentality with close attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.
