Within the Department of Precision Health, Dr. Torsten Bohn, Head of the Nutrition & Health Research Group (NUTRIHEALTH), aims, in collaboration with his team, to explore the world of carotenoids and dietary fibers. An important focus is the role of dietary fibers on the bioaccessibility and cellular uptake of carotenoids, as well as physocio-chemical effects on gastro-intestinal digesta. The project aims to employ in vitro digestion techniques to extrapolate the bioaccessibility of carotenoids.
For a project related to NutriHealth , we are offering a 6 months paid Master (2)-Student internship at our premesis.
The main tasks of the Master Student will be to work on in vitro digestion, recovery of carotenoids, measurement of physio-chemical properties of the digesta. In the frame of this work, the Master student will benefit from the expertise of Dr. Torsten Bohn in nutrition and health, and Dr. Farhad Vahid in nutrition sciences and food chemistry.
