Technical Expert in Cancer Metabolism

The Cancer Metabolism Group (Head: Dr. Johannes Meiser) within the Department of Cancer Research of LIH, is currently looking for a Technician/Lab Manager to strengthen our team. We are focusing our research efforts towards a detailed understanding of the role of metabolism in health and disease with a special emphasis on onco/immuno-metabolism.

The successful candidate will be embedded in a state-of-the-art laboratory at the Department of Cancer Research (~ 100 members). The Meiser lab currently consists of 4 PhD students, one lab manager, one technician, four Postdoctoral fellows and an adjunct in-house Mass Spectrometry platform.

The main tasks of the successful candidate will be to assist PhD students and Postdoctoral fellows in their projects and support the organization of the lab together with our lab manager.

Key Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biology (or related field);

• Fluent in English;

• Strong knowledge and keen interest in mammalian metabolism;

• Hands-on experience with experimental lab techniques (e.g., flow cytometry, Western blot, etc.);

• Solid expertise in molecular biology;

• Extensive experience in cell culture;

• Proficient in confocal microscopy;

• Highly organized, reliable, and able to work effectively within an international team.
