EU-CardioRNA COST Action: LIH plays a leading role in international collaborative research on heart disease
The LIH is not only a privileged research partner in Luxembourg, but also worldwide as a lead institution in large-scale collaborative initiatives.
PhD Student in DNA Repair/anti-cancer Immunity - EV1020
The DNA Repair and Chemoresistance Group of the Department of Oncology conducts fundamental and translational research on the molecular mechanisms governing DNA repair, chromatin dynamics and chemoresistance in cancer. Our main research interest resides in the identification & validation of novel DNA repair-based strategies to improve cancer treatment, with a particular focus on glioblastoma. As a step toward the development of novel anticancer immunotherapeutic approaches, we have also initiated several lines of investigation to understand the interplay between DNA repair factors and nucleic acid innate immune sensors and their clinical implications.
Internship Position in Biomonitoring (Master students) - BA1020
To be part of the “Human Biomonitoring Research Unit” (Group Leader: Dr. B. Appenzeller) within the Department of Population Health at the LIH, we are currently looking for a Master student in Biomonitoring.
Engineer Flow Cytometry - AC1020
The candidate will work as an Engineer in the National Cytometry Platform (NCP). He will mainly be responsible for 1/ Developing single cell assays that will be used in the framework of the Transversal Translational Medicine initiative; 2/Validate and standardize the procedures according to high standard of quality; 3/ Develop innovative data-analysis pipelines in collaboration with the Head of the platform; 4/Collaborate with the National Cytometry team to support the user of the flow cytometry platform
Project Manager TTM - RK1020
The Transversal Translational Medicine (TTM) led by Prof Rejko Krueger, creates a translational bridge between fundamental research and the clinic so that prevention, diagnosis and therapy may help patients in Luxembourg and beyond. TTM develops and implements translational research projects, from bench to bed to real life. The Project Manager is in charge of translational, collaborative and multidisciplinary projects for fostering personalized medicine aiming at clinical development and integration into the Luxembourgish ecosystem and abroad. The main two projects of which the project manager will be responsible for are the Horizon 2020 Orchestra and CON-VINCE (COvid-19 National survey for assessing VIral spread by Non-affected CarriErs).
Laboratory Technician - RK1020
The Transversal Translational Medicine (TTM) Platform at the LIH, led by Prof Rejko Krueger, creates a translational bridge between fundamental research and the clinic so that prevention, diagnosis and therapy may help patients in Luxembourg and beyond. The TTM Platform is tasked with developing and implementing translational research projects, from bench to bed to real life. The technician on project will support the laboratory-based research team at the interface with the Disease Modeling & Screening platform within TTM regarding the organization of the lab (ordering, supply), performance of experiments, maintenance of lab automation (automated pipetting, cell culture) and analysis of results to assist in research, development of cellular models of diseases and development cellular assay for drug screening such as Parkinson’s disease and others (human cell lines, fibroblasts, and induced pluripotent stem cells).
Director of Department of Population Health - UN1020
The LIH is looking for new leadership to structure the Department of Population Health focusing on multiple determinants of health and disease beyond ‘omics’, with an emphasis on social and environmental determinants that drive health outcomes and health inequities in the population and patient cohorts.
