Cancer Metabolism Group at Luxembourg’s 1st Race for the Cure

14 October 2019 2minutes

To celebrate its 10th Anniversary in October 2019, Think Pink Lux together with Think Pink Europe organized Luxembourg’s 1st Race for the Cure at Echternach Lake under the slogan “Run Pink, Walk Pink”.

Several members of the LIH participated in this race, including our Cancer Metabolism Research Team. The Race for the Cure® is the world’s largest and most successful education and fundraising breast cancer event ever created. During this non-competitive event, all walkers and runners celebrate life and show their support to breast cancer patients. Moreover, the participants raise money for a good cause such as funding research projects and education or directly supporting people with cancer. About eighty percent of all funds raised during Luxembourg’s 1st Race for the Cure 2019 remained in Luxembourg and were dedicated to research projects at the LIH.

Think Pink Lux is a Luxembourg registered non-profit association formed in October 2009 that supports women and their families living in Luxembourg with the day-to-day reality of cancer. Besides this, Think Pink Lux aims at raising awareness of cancers affecting women and raises funds through a number of events, such as the Think Pink Ladies Night, Europadonna Broschtkriibslaf and the Relais pour la Vie. Relais pour la vie is a non-athletic team event to raise funds for Fondation Cancer. In addition, Think Pink Lux also awards scholarships to support young scientists dedicated to research.
