Plooschter Project continues long-standing support for the Tumor Stroma Interactions Group

16 March 2026 2minutes

On 7 March, the Luxembourgish non-profit association Plooschter Project reaffirmed its support for the Tumor–Stroma Interactions (TSI) group of the Department of Cancer Research (DoCR) with a generous donation of €35,000 supporting the group’s ongoing research efforts to fight leukaemia and lymphoma.

The Plooschter Project regularly organises donor recruitment events across Luxembourg to register stem cell donors who, if matched, can help save the life of a patient in need. The association recently received the support of the Grand Duke, who joined the stem cell donor registry and praised the association’s work and commitment.

This marks the seventh consecutive donation from the Plooschter Project since 2019, highlighting the association’s long-standing commitment to supporting TSI’s mission to advance translational research in hematological cancers.

Led by Drs Etienne Moussay and Jérôme Paggetti, the TSI group explores how the tumour microenvironment supports cancer progression to develop new effective treatments for blood cancers, with a particular focus on CLL, the most common type of leukaemia in adults. During the ceremony, TSI Senior Scientist Dr Anne Largeot also presented two research projects supported by the association, highlighting the impact of donations on research and medicine.

The consistent support by associations like the Plooschter Project not only provides vital resources for cancer research but also exemplifies the impact of long-term partnerships between biomedical institutions and the wider community in driving scientific innovation and hope for patients.
