A memorable Science Festival 2025: Thanks to All for Your Passion and Energy!

From 22nd to 25th November, the LIH was present at the Science Festival with four stands, led by teams from the Department of Cancer Research (DoCR), the Department of Infection and Immunity (DII), and the Clinical and Epidemiological Investigation Center (CIEC).

LIH staff engaged with visitors during the four days, bringing science to life for both kids and grown-ups. Teams from the DoCR proposed an array of activities to help the public discover the secrets of the cells, and gain insights into how scientists study DNA and other molecules. Two teams from DII, the Molecular and Translational Allergology (ALL2) and the Clinical and Applied Virology (INF3) team, led a workshop about tick-borne diseases, to raise public awareness about potential transmission of pathogens, their detection, and protection measures against tick bites. In a workshop led by the CIEC, the public explored how researchers and doctors test a drug’s effectiveness, its side effects, and its impact on patients’ life. A further activity from CIEC introduced key facts about rare diseases and the complexity of their diagnostic journey.
