The LIH Congratulates the Luxembourg Allergy Network on 10 Years of Advocacy and Community Support

16 May 2025 2minutes

On Tuesday, 13 May 2025, the Luxembourg Allergy Network (LAN) marked its 10th anniversary with an evening of reflection, collaboration, and forward-looking discussion. The LIH was proud to take part in this event, which brought together patients, healthcare professionals, and researchers to explore how to better support people living with food allergies in Luxembourg.

The event featured presentations from key stakeholders, including Dr. Morel, pediatric allergist at the CHL, who shared an update on childhood food allergies, and Dr. Annette Kuehn, group leader of the Molecular & Translational Allegology group at the LIH, who presented recent research findings and future directions in allergy science.

Led by Dr. Kuehn and Dr. Christiane Hilger, the Molecular & Translational Allergology group is at the forefront of allergy research at the LIH. Late last year, they helped the LAN and LIH sign a memorandum of understanding, forming a partnership that aims to raise awareness about allergies, promote inclusion, and strengthen public engagement through workshops, seminars, and outreach.

The LIH and LAN also recently released a proposal in the form of a white paper to the Ministry of Health this April. It proposes the establishment of a workgroup to develop and implement a National Allergy Management Plan. This group will develop strategies and policy proposals over a 2-year period and will then stay in place as a consultation body regarding allergies.

The LIH congratulates the LAN on their 10-year milestone and looks forward to further strengthening this valuable collaboration.
