LIH launches its new corporate Website and Research Portal

Aligning the digital footprint with LIH’s new strategy

27 January 2022 4minutes

Over the past few months, the LIH has rethought its strategic focus and established a new mission and vision, to become a leading European institute for precision medicine and precision health and have a direct and meaningful impact on people’s health.

In line with this new strategy now putting the patient at the heart of its research activities, LIH has reworked its brand strategy and digital presence and today, is happy to unveil its new www.lih.lu corporate website as well as a new Research Portal researchportal.lih.lu!

LIH is growing and thriving. In light of the evolution of our institute, we have revised our digital strategy and want to match the online user experience to our new mission and vision statements. That means creating centralised, interconnected, extensible and manageable digital platforms that put patients and more generally the general public in the centre while facilitating collaborations between researchers,

explains Arnaud d’Agostini, Head of Marketing & Communication at LIH.

The new online presence caters to a multiplicity of audiences, including to patients, the general public, clinicians and researchers as well as other relevant and important external stakeholders and contributors to research. The Website provides dynamic and customised information on activities of the research departments and groups, corporate information about LIH, a contribution section where people can support research by participating or donating, and many more exciting contents. To accommodate the visitors, facilitate the navigation and create an immersive user experience, there are multiple entry points to choose from, all leading to relevant information about the LIH and its research activities.

The general public – www.lih.lu

In an effort to bring medical research closer to the general public and raise the interest in research, the new corporate website has been designed to make research more accessible, facilitating access to the latest discoveries on LIH priority research diseases such as cancer, immunological disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and priority research topics such as digital health, precision health, clinical research and preventive medicine. Visitors can find information on LIH research projects and ongoing studies in a simple and understandable language and easily sign up for actively recruiting studies and clinical trials. The website also presents the people who are behind the formidable achievements of the institute, both in research departments and in research support units.

“We have done our best to improve the user experience for all our visitors. A highly visual and responsive design means that users can enjoy an optimal viewing experience and innovative functionalities on all types of devices. Responding to the needs of a multicultural and multilingual public, within Luxembourg and across the borders, the website content will be available in three languages (English, French and German) in the next release scheduled in the next few weeks. We tried to do all in our power to make sure our research can we viewed, understood and contributed to by everyone,” adds Noémie Guerisse, project manager of the web platform.

The research community – researchportal.lih.lu

In addition to the new corporate website, LIH is also launching a new Research Portal, which is directed at the research community. PURE is a scientific portal that allows our researchers to present and promote their research projects and activities as well as highlight their outputs such as scientific publications.

While the PURE Research Portal and the corporate website are complementary and highly interconnected with each other, the targeted audiences are clearly separated, making it easier for the users to find the relevant information they are looking for,
