Clinical Study Assistant

The Clinical Study Assistant will be part of the Luxembourg Research Clinic- Neurology, headed by Prof. Rejko Krüger.  He/She will support the clinical projects by inviting potential participants by phone, and in particular by explaining the objectives and protocols of several projects linked to the field of neurology by answering their questions and by ensuring the administrative follow-up.

Examples of programmes and projects where participant recruitment is on-going:

• NCER-PD: national centre of excellence for research in Parkinson’s Disease, aiming at improving the diagnosis and stratification of Parkinson’s disease to allow earlier diagnosis, preventive treatment, and personalised medicine. Within the NCER-PD programme, several patient cohorts are followed over time (people with parkinsonism; REM-Sleep-Behaviour Disorder; Healthy Brain Ageing,…).
• PPMI: Parkinson’s Precision Medicine Initiative is PPMI is a landmark study collaborating with partners around the world to create a robust open-access data set and biosample library to speed scientific breakthroughs and new treatments.
• Different novel clinical trials in the field of neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Hermod, PreCoDe).

Key Accountabilities

• Call the potential participants, explain the study and answer questions
• Administrative follow-up of the participants in the studies,
• Ensuring administrative follow-up on projects within a multidisciplinary and inter-institutional research environment
• Answer phone calls and emails from participants
• Helping participants with technical problems linked to the study documents,
• Update the study files to trace the activities
• Support the team in day-to-day tasks.
• Support the clinical research team in day-to-day tasks and the administrative management of the clinical study centre.
• Provide support in clinical events organisation (workshops,  visitors, etc.)
• Work in close collaboration with the clinical coordinator

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Language skills: Fluency in French, German and English.
• Any other language in use in Luxembourg would also be an asset.
• Profile with medical/health background and/or biological knowledge,
• Excellent communication and convincing skills,
• Able to work in a multidisciplinary team,  meticulous and autonomous,
• Comfortable with computer tools (Word, Excel, database),
• Ability to work with different profiles and people from different experiences and cultural backgrounds
