Master's (M2) Research Internship in Immuno-Oncology

Please note that:

• The compensation for this internship is 832€/month + lunch vouchers.
• Fully on-site internship (no remote work permitted).

The Cytoskeleton and Cancer Progression (CCP) research group, led by Dr. Clément Thomas, investigates how the actin cytoskeleton in tumor cells contributes to resistance to immune attack. Our ultimate goal is to identify novel therapeutic targets that can enhance the efficacy of anticancer immunotherapies.

A major barrier to effective immunotherapy is tumor immune evasion. We recently identified a critical role for actin remodeling in tumor cell resistance at the immunological synapse, the dynamic interface between cytotoxic lymphocytes and cancer cells. Our group uses high-resolution live-cell imaging and quantitative microscopy to dissect these mechanisms at the molecular level.

We are offering a six-month, full-time internship for a highly motivated second-year Master’s student (M2) to join our team and contribute to ongoing research projects.

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Master’s programme (M2) in biology, immunology, oncology, or a closely related discipline is required. The internship must be a formal requirement of the Master’s degree.
• Previous hands-on laboratory experience in tumor immunology or cancer biology, including work with tumor cell models and cytotoxic lymphocytes, is strongly preferred.
• Solid foundational knowledge of tumor immunology and cancer biology
• Knowledge of cell biology techniques, such as microscopy and flow cytometry
• Practical experience with cell culture and tumor cell/immune cell co-culture experiments is highly desirable
• A solid understanding of the group’s research on tumor immune evasion, gained through careful reading of our published (open-access) articles; this will be assessed during the interview.
