The Departmental Project Coordinator (DPC) will mainly be involved in :
- Assisting the Department Director in the day-to-day management of practical and administrative aspects of the research department;
- Participating in the establishment, writing and coordination of large collaborative projects and consortia at the national and international levels;
- Participating in the dissemination of knowledge and in the promotion of scientific and technical information;
Key Accountabilities
- Organize and coordinate operational and administrative tasks in the research department;
- Assist in the writing and establishment of consortial project applications;
- Assist in project management, coordination and administrative follow-up of projects;
- Assist the Principal investigators of the Department in the administrative setup and management of research projects;
- Contribute to the organization of scientific events (e.g. scientific meetings, workshops, conferences, lectures) and outreach activities;
- Maintain scientific communication activities (e.g. websites, presentations, posters, communications to the press and general public);
- Interact with national and international partners, stakeholders and funding agencies (e.g. coordinate sample collections, clinical partners);
- Assist with laboratory management and interact with internal stakeholders (e.g. building and equipment, health and safety).
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant scientific discipline or Master’s Degree with equivalent experience;
- Proven experience in scientific writing and project management;
- Excellent writing and communication skills for scientific topics;
- Strong organizational skills, ability to effectively organize, prioritize and execute tasks in a highly dynamic environment, with respect of the deadlines;
- Hands-on experience in biomedical research would be an asset;
- Ability to work in multinational environment and interact efficiently with multicultural partners;
- Languages: fluent command of English (oral and written), good command of French and/or German.
