Master's Student in Translational Immunology

BACKGROUND

The externally funded project will explore the molecular mechanism underlying immune ageing with state-of-the-art in-vitro and in-vivo immunological and multi-Omics approaches. The project aims to generate fundamental and translationable knowledge in human CD8 T-cell differentation and its implementation in neurodegenerative diseases.

TRAINING AND RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT

The intern will be supervised by Dr. Feng Hefeng from the Department of Infection and Immunity.The successful candidate will be embedded in a state-of-the-art laboratory at the Department of Infection and Immunity composed of ~100 staff members.

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Master’s programme in molecular biology or Immunology.
  • Great hand-on laboratory experiments with molecular and cellular biology.
  • Good statistical knowledge and hands-on experience with statistical programs (e.g., R) would be an asset.
  • Possessing a FELASA B or Function A or equivalent certificate is an asset. 
  • Excellent planning and communication skills, ability to work in complex, multi-disciplinary and multicultural teams and to coordinate work.
  • Sense of responsibility, autonomy, curiosity, open mind, flexibility and respect of confidentiality.
  • Language skills: Fluency in English is mandatory, with written skills in English. Any other language in use in Luxembourg would also be an asset.
