CMG brings a taste of two worlds to the Luxembourg Science Festival

During our practical workshop “You are what you eat … and your metabolism!”, we explained the basic principles of cellular metabolism to visitors of all ages at the Science Festival 2021

The 2021 Edition of the Luxembourg Science Festival took place from Thursday 11^th to Sunday the 14^th of November at the Centre culturel de rencontre Abbaye de Neumünster and the Musée national d’histoire naturelle, in Luxembourg-Grund. This year, the LIH was represented in not one but two separate workshops for the entertainment and education of kids from 3 to 99.

In our practical workshop “You are what you eat … and your metabolism!”, we explained the basic principles of cellular metabolism and investigated how nutrition affects health. The visitors learned more about the relationship between metabolism and the progression of cancer and how researchers investigate this pathological change in human cells. Interactively, they learned about a balanced nutrition, with hands-on tasks that include measuring of pH and tracing of sugars through metabolic pathways.
