What are the Objectives of the study?

We are collecting tumours of the nervous system (brain and spinal cord tumours) to establish a national biobank in Luxembourg. Patient-donated tumour tissue is crucial for research as it allows us to identify novel biomarkers and develop innovative and personalised treatment strategies for patients. We also use them to create patient-derived preclinical models, which are used to accelerate drug development.

Who can Participate?

• All patients suffering from nervous system tumours and scheduled for surgery or biopsy at CHL
• The Study is accepted by the Comité National d’Ethique de la Recherche  in Luxembourg (CNER, PRECISION PDX Protocol, REC-LRNO-20110708)

Please note that this research study will not directly affect the treatment established by your doctor, but it will help improve future treatment options.

• To participate, please contact your neurosurgeon, neurosurgery secretariat or the Luxembourg Institute of Health directly (CIEC unit tel: 26 970 800)
• Participants will be able to give their agreement to the research study by  signing an ‘informed consent form’ allowing to share tumour tissue, blood and clinical parameters with the research team
• Participation will always remain anonymous to the research team
