Transversal Translational Medicine (TTM) at the LIHcreates a translational bridge between fundamental research and the clinic sothat improved/advanced diagnosis, therapy and prevention may help patients inLuxembourg and beyond.  TTM wishes torecruit a Project Manager. The incumbent will be project lead for EATRIS-plusproject (50%) and other TTM research programs (50%). The aim of EATRIS-Plusis to help pooling and exploiting the translational academic capacities of theinfrastructure in omic technologies to enable researchers to better address thescientific and societal challenge of personalized medicine. Additionally, thecoordination office and 13 existing national nodes of the infrastructure willparticipate in implementing joint outreach, training, industry engagement andinternational collaboration activities to further build national capacity,increase users’ trust and strengthen EATRIS and the ERA global scientificleadership.

Key Accountabilities
  • Be a key link across TTM activities, in particular for the NCER-PD translational program, connecting the activities of the IBBL (biosample storage) with the activities at the LCSB (data stewardship).
  • Have specific responsibilities for the EATRIS-plus project.
  • Assist the TTM program portfolio manager in coordinating program process along their life cycle.
  • Support with all organisational issues around a program, and will link between the program portfolio manager, head of quality control and production manager where required.
  • Be the main access point for daily issues for the sponsor (client) in the respective program and should assist BDO in preparing for exits from programs.
  • Manage research programs, supporting program chair throughout the duration of each program, such as proposal submission, evaluation, reporting and communication.
  • Support in the development of scientific extensions to research programs, including international collaborations and integration of new technologies.
  • Organize and attend the program events, such as scientific symposia and annual program meetings, Project Committees and Scientific Advisory Board meetings, developing innovative ways to enhance meeting interactions.
  • Give input in scientific monitoring and scientific reporting to the Scientific Advisory/Steering Boards and the national/international funding agencies.
  • Be engaged in fundraising to gain further financial support by public and private funders.
  • Serve as contact person of relevant research programs.
  • Maintain networking with researchers and other stakeholders in fundamental, clinical and translational research.
  • Perform any other tasks within the framework of the position.

  • Master degree or equivalent in a biomedical discipline or closely related field.
  • At least 5 years experience in scientific or translational project management.
  • Management of European or international level projects considered an asset.
  • Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills, ability to manage/plan at both strategic and operational levels and to set priorities effectively, work effectively as an individual and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Confidence to interact with high-profile scientists and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German or French are essential, as is proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media communications.
