The Security & System Administrator, under thedirection of the Head of IT, is responsible for the IT infrastructure(including network, computers, printers, servers, office applications, laboratorycomputers, backups) used at IBBL. He ensures the security, availability andperformance of this IT infrastructure and systems required for IBBL activitiesas well as the integrity and confidentiality of IBBL data and information. He/She provides support for theinstallation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems software andhardware and the related infrastructure

Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for the implementation, upgrades and management of the IT infrastructure (including network, computers, printers, servers, office applications, laboratory computers, backups) required for IBBL activities (in collaboration with external partners and LIH IT as required).
  • Is responsible for security, integrity, performance and availability of the above IT infrastructure and systems used at IBBL for development and operations as well as the compliance with applicable regulations on a daily basis
  • Develops, negotiates, assesses and supervises IT related Service Level Agreements with internal and external suppliers.
  • Is responsible for the selection, implementation, and administration of specific applications such as Sharepoint and Environmental Monitoring Systems
  • Participates in the selection of new instruments (mainly laboratory ones) and supervise their installation in close relation with the IBBL laboratory IT project manager.
  • Writes security and system administration policies and procedures as required by quality management
  • Regularly assesses IBBL requirements and new trends in IT infrastructure and security, performs risk assessments, proposes changes to improve performances, availability and security and implements as required.
  • Organizes user training on his domain of expertise and responsibility 
  • Master’s degree in information technology (preferably in system field).
  • Job experience in project management or other relevant area (e.g. research, biology, CRO, medical, pharmaceutical…).
  • Knowledge of a Project Management methodology: PRINCE2 or equivalent is an asset
  • Proactive and creative, finds solutions, proposes changes to improve efficiency and quality
  • Demonstrated ability for independent and critical thinking
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Teamwork, coordination and negotiation skills
  • Ability to grasp the detail and the “big picture” of complex projects and to work at both levels
  • Language Skills : Must speak and write English (working language at the IBBL) and French fluently
