TheProject Coordinator is mainly involved in the following tasks :1. Coordinate competitive and contractual research projects at the Department of Population Health (DoPH) level; 2.Provide overall guidance to project investigators and/or persons responsible for projects at DoPH level in their daily activities to make sure of the application of project management best practices; 3. Participate in the DoPH strategic research thinking and business development activities, supporting the Director of Department and the Heads of Unit in the implementation of their strategic plans; 4.Act as DoPH contact person for both internal and external stakeholders, funding bodies, ministries or industrial partners; 5.Develop actions to increase the internal and external visibility of the Department; 6.Organize practical and administrative aspects of the DoPH.

Key Accountabilities
  • Carry out a mapping of the future and ongoing projects at DoPH level and update the dashboard with their status
  • Ensure an overall monitoring & control system of the DoPH projects regarding budget, resource, deliverables and milestones, in collaboration with the Science Office (SO)
  • Ensure that project investigators manage their projects in compliance with the best practices in project management and the LIH procedures
  • Ensure the liaison between the DoPH Direction and the different research units to foster the implementation of the performance contract and of the strategic plan of the Department
  • Participate in the strategic thinking workshops and meetings of the DoPH
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships and collaborations with key contractual partners and competitive funding bodies
  • Develop the Departmental annual budget, taking into account input from the Heads of Unit
  • Ensure, in consultation with the SO, the watch of the research funding opportunities, inform the DoPH teams accordingly and support the project investigators in the submission process
  • Implement internal and external communication plans in the different units of the DoPH
  • Contribute to the organization of scientific events (e.g. workshops, conferences, lectures).

KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master degree - a PhD in the field of biomedical research is a plus
  • Min 5 years expertise in support of research project management
  • Experience in National and/or European projects writing is an asset
  • Strong critical thinking and excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills, ability to set priorities effectively
  • Work effectively as an individual and as part of a collaborative team
  • Must speak and write English fluently. French and /or German are considered as an advantage.
