Project Manager - YD0820

The Project Manager will be responsible for the general management of the Horizon 2020 COVIRNA project starting on the 1st of January 2021. Working with the Scientific Coordinator of the project and the European Projects Coordinator, the Project Manager will monitor the consortium and will facilitate its general functioning in conformity with the terms of the Consortium Agreement. The tasks of the Project Manager will be related to organisational, administrative, financial and legal management of the project.

Key Accountabilities
  • Assist the coordinator in supervising the implementation of the project and monitoring the work plan; provide support in plannig, producing and reviewing the deliverables and outomes to ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor all contractual obligations (Grant Agreement, Consortium Agreement and other legal documents) and prepare updates when necessary to ensure compliance with the Horizon 2020 rules and administrative procedures.
  • Assist partners on the administrative aspects of the project.
  • Develop and implement the management tools necessary for the management of the project (procedures, guides, templates, collaborative platform, etc.).
  • Prepare consortium meetings (annual meetings, Executive Committee meetings, etc.) and draft minutes.
  • Animate the network and facilitate exchanges between partners by implementing internal communication actions (mailing lists, animation of the collaborative platform, etc.).
  • Assure the intermediary between the funding agency (European Commission - “EC”) and the consortium.
  • Follow the expenses at the project level (breakdown and transfer of funds, updating and monitoring of the budget, financial summary balance sheets, etc.).
  • Liaise with LIH support services to follow internal budget, prepare LIH`s financial reports for the project, inform on the breakdown of project funds between partners and send budget transfer requests at the appropriate timing, follow up on legal/regulatory issues, etc..
  • Coordinate the preparation, consolidation and submission of annual technical and financial reports, within the deadlines set by the EC.
  • Make sure that any justification document is prepared and filed by each partner, in anticipation of possible audits.

  • Master or equivalent, including training/experience in European project management.
  • Good knowledge and experience (+2 years) of EC management rules in the framework of the Horizon 2020 framework program.
  • Knowledge of the operating rules and administrative procedures of a public research organization.
  • Good knowledge in project financial and administrative management.
  • Process orientated with excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work in multinational environment and interact efficiently with multicultural partners.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, autonomy, target oriented.
  • Language skills: fluent command of English and French written and oral (a third language would be a plus).

2-year fixed-term contract, part-time (50%), start-date in November 2020
