Lawyer in Data Protection - LP0121

As part of our compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and in order to contribute to the expansion of our Data Protection Office, we are looking for a lawyer to support the LIH Data Protection Officer (DPO).

Key Accountabilities
  • Work closely with the DPO on his tasks and missions derived from the GDPR and the LIH data protection policies and procedures.
  • Support the DPO in his advising role.
  • Review data protection related documentation (contracts, information notices, policies and procedures,etc).
  • Contribute to the implementation and review of LIH’s processes and documentation to strengthen GDPR compliance.
  • Contribute to the promotion of a data protection culture across LIH
  • Support the DPO in developing  training material and communication dedicated to staff awareness.
  • Ensure proactive monitoring in data protection matters at national and European level.
  • Support the annual compliance documentation review (e.g. records of personal data processing).
  • Assist the DPO in the preparation of audits.
  • Act as a contact point for relevant stakeholders within LIH with respect to data protection related activities.
  • Contribute to any other tasks needed by the Data Protection Office.

KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree in Law (minimum Master’s degree level or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a legal position handling data protection matters.
  • Good knowledge of the GDPR, complimentary regulations (e.g.,ePrivacy), and related guidelines.
  • Interest in life sciences and scientific research.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Service and results oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player, open-minded.
  • Able to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
  • Pedagogical spirit/approach.
  • Proactive, able to work autonomously and handling various tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent command of English and fluency in French, any other language is considered as an asset.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office suite.
