The IT Manager plans, establishes, maintains and supervises IBBL’sbusiness information solutions to support operational and research activitiesat IBBL. He/She selects and implements suitable technology to streamline allinternal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits. Moreover,he/she is the key interface between the internal clients’ needs and thesolutions provided by his/her team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design, implement and maintain an Information Technology Master Plan (or SDSI) aligned with IBBL’s four-year strategy

  • Define, implement, maintain project management processes for the BIS (Business Information Solutions) unit taking into account data quality and focusing on paperless solutions

  • Ensure processes are fully integrated and documented into IBBL QMS (ISO 9001)

  • In accordance with the internal clients’ needs (IBBL unit managers, CFAO), select and implement suitable technology to streamline internal operations and help optimizing their strategic benefits. Maintain and/or update existing systems (e.g. : LIMS)

  • Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers

  • Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to staff within the organization

  • Monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways IBBL can gain competitive advantage

  • Analyze the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise top management and suggest actions. Define, implement and maintain BIS KPIs into a clear dashboard

  • Ensure through collaboration with the LIH IT Manager that IBBL business solutions are integrated into an infrastructure of highest security, compliant with international quality standard and optimized system interoperability.

  • Manage a team of 5-10 information technology staff

  • Understand/integrate data protection requirements in business information solutions

KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • MSc/Engineer degree in computer science, engineering or relevant field

  • Min.5 years of relevant job experience in a managerial role

  • Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation related to medical or clinical laboratory operations

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills

  • Solid understanding/experience in business and data analysis, budgeting operations

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Able to build strong relationships with all the internal clients (researcher, operator, administration)

Language skills
  • Must speak and write English fluently.

  • Additional fluency in French or German would be preferred

Desired criteria, assets

  • Knowledge or experience in e-health and analyzing Big Data

  • Strong strategic and business mindset with an operational & pragmatic sense

  • Familiar with multicenter international projects, particularly in a European context
