The identification of the population’s needs is the first step for the development of a consistent public health strategy about prevention, promotion and development of adequate health services. Validated health information helps the politics taking adequate decisions regarding the national and global health landscape. Besides the information gathered from registries and other administrative sources, many health indicators on morbidities, health determinants, and risk factors are measured within the framework of surveys. European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) is a mandatory study for all EU Member States according to the regulation 2018/255 of 19 February 2018, and needs to be conducted every five years. The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg participated in the second and third wave of data collection in 2014 and 2019.
