Engineer Flow, Mass and Imaging Cytometry - AC1118

The candidate will work as an Engineer in the National Cytometry Platform (NCP). He will mainly be responsibe for : - The resolution and prevention of technical problems with the flow, mass and imaging cytometers as well as cell sorters and related equipment (immuno-assays, microscopes) in consultation with the current Head of the platform;  - He/she will support users to perform optimal cytometric experiments for their specific projects (panel design, protocol, acquisition, supervised and non-supervised analysis); - He/she should become independent in maintaining the platform infrastructure and functioning.

Key Accountabilities
  • Maintaining the equipment inside the facility and performing the necessary quality controls
  • Training users to operate the different cytometers
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot problems
  • Support of experimental design / protocol development, data acquisition
  • Support the analysis and presentation of the data using the different available softwares (Diva, FlowJo, ModFit, Infinicyt, FCAP, Kaluza, Cytobank, R, Ideas, Prism, Tableau Desktop, …)
  • Maintain the stock and prepare the necessary order forms
  • Maintain schedule in order to run the platform to the maximum efficiency
  • Endorse the ISO9001 quality management system
  • Keeping updated with the latest relevant developments in the field of cytometry 

KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master/Engineer Diploma or higher in Biotechnology, Biology, Biomedical sciences, etc.
  • Practical experience of several years in two or more of the following areas: flow cytometry, mass cytometry, imaging cytometry, cell sorting, antibodies coupling, immunology, oncology, bio-medical research
  • Self-driven motivation, service oriented, sense of initiative, ability to work independently and meet responsibilities without continuous supervision
  • Good verbal communication skills and being able to interact successfully with a broad range of individuals
  • Languages skills: fluent command of English, knowledge of another language of the European Union is an asset.
