Clinical Research Nurse in Infectious Diseases - JYF0721

The Clinical Research Nurse  will  : Assist the investigator and the medical team at all stages of the studies in infectious diseases (hepatitis national plan); Organise the research protocol with drug users and participate in data collection and management; Ensure the coordination of the activities on the different partners’ sites (CHL, Abrigado, Jugend- an Drogenhëllef…); Coordinate patients’ clinical monitoring in collaboration with the CHL; Carry out nursing related activities as stated in the clinical research protocol; Provide specific expertise and know-how in the follow-up of active drug users; Ensure compliance with the legal, administrative and regulatory obligations; Assist the CIEC nurse team with studies in different therapeutic areas than infectious diseases (oncology, neurology, public health, etc.), if required.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure the comprehension of clinical research protocols hence their realization.
  • Organise the recruitment of  participants providing them with required information and obtaining their informed consent in close collaboration with the leading physician.
  • Organise clinical visits and ensure the follow-up of the patients.
  • Perform nursing activities and assist the clinical team as required by the protocol.
  • Collect and transfer biological samples to the laboratories concerned in line with the protocol procedures.
    Ensure data management (collection of clinical data, pseudo-anonymisation, coding, case filing, monitoring, etc.).

  • Ensure data safety reporting as required by the protocol and legal requirements.
  • Manage and assist in internal and external project meetings.
  • Organise strategic discussions and meetings with stakeholders
  • Report to the AIDS committee and the Ministry on the progress of activities.
  • Regularly interact with the Infectious Diseases research unit and the CIEC  at LIH.
  • Participate in the implementation of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and their validation process.
  • Promote clinical research to professionals and/or lay public.
  • Manage and maintain study equipments.

  • Nursing degree -  and a working authorisation in  Luxembourg is mandatory.
  • Professional experience of at least 2 years in a nursing job in different drug addiction settings, hospital, prison or healthcare network with drug users.
  • Experience in clinical research is an asset.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Eager to learn, pro-active, well-organized, good communication skills (with drug users), responsible and flexible.
  • Driving licence category B is required.
  • IT skills: MS Office package (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook); experience with patient data bases.
  • Language skills: Luxembourgish,  French, German and English are required. Portuguese is considered an asset.
